@derekhough DO NOT stop doing what you do so well! You had me scream OMG…Tonight! Some of your BEST work EVER!!! AWESOME!!! Breathtaking…I was totally exhausted after watching you guys, it was like I was out there on the dance floor dancing with you…I felt EVERY emotion!

I have MS, and my legs don’t seem to want to cooperate with me, so I can’t move around like I use too :-) But, when I see ARTISTRY like I saw tonight from YOU…my HEART dances! I watched you guys performance over and over tonight…tears streaming from my face!

Thank You…For your gift of Artistry, Choreography, Dance, Musicality, and the JOY you bring to those of us that can no longer dance with our legs, but ALWAYS in our HEARTS!!!

Council-At-Large Candidates… Choose Wisely

Paying attention to city politics is crucial! Why? Because these local city politicians play a bigger part in the issues that matter to America then you think! I’m sure many will say “who cares what you think”…but if I can encourage (1) person to get out and VOTE, my job is done! Here is my take on my city Council-At-Large Candidates:

Martin Sanchez…I found him to be very personable, he had a clear vision on what direction he would like to take the city! He didn’t shy away from my questions, although a few of his answers bothered me…one in particular didn’t sit well at ALL!! (Story for another day) But, I thought if it’s the less of two evils, (that being Republican choice only), I’d go with Sanchez…our City needs some DIVERSITY! So, I decided to post a sign in my front yard and VOTE for him.

BUT, then I learn of “Jeremiah Hammer” who is also running. I contacted him, sent him my questions to answers, and he immediately responded. After exchanging text messages, and checking out his Facebook and Twitter account, and talking with him several times via phone, watching the debates, I knew immediately in my gut this was my guy!

What’s there to like about “Hammer” I like that the only interest he has is seeing our city evolve in the 21st century…I like the fact Hammer “IS NOT”, I repeat NOT your typical “SUIT” guy…Politician type telling you what he thinks you want to hear…I like he has NO city obligation or conflicts! He just a guy trying to make a difference… just a guy trying to better the environment. A guy who just wants to make a difference for the RIGHT reasons! No agenda, no favors to repay… just a guy who wants to move our City FORWARD!

So up came “Sanchez’s” yard sign, after being out in front for two week, and in went “Hammers”! Yes…people in my household it is officially
“Hammer Time”!

Early Voting starts Monday, April 29th and I will be VOTING for “Hammer”! Read up on him and “Sanchez” and make your decision, and by all means get out and VOTE!!!

Choose Wisely…City elections are NOT just about getting “New Companies” to come in, or New Parks to be built. It’s about the future of the next generation… it’s about the rights of our daughters…it’s about my rights as a women…it’s about equality…it’s about diversity…it’s about putting the RIGHT people in office who will take us FORWARD… NOT back to the early “1900’s” when WOMEN and MINORITIES had ZERO rights!

In the words of my girls, “The Dixie Chicks”…I’m NOT Ready to Make Nice! What’s wrong with you people? It baffles me how people complain about government, yet when extended the opportunity to get involve just take a back seat and do NOTHING! Instead of letting their voices be heard!
Now I can understand election burnout people, but we are talking about our city…the future!!!

Although, I feel VERY strong about my personal beliefs, and opinions, I also know we need BOTH parties Republican, and Democrat for government to work effectively! That’s why it annoys me that the City/County Elected Seats consist of ONLY Republicans! Like really people…

Wanting “My Voice” to be heard, I starting reading up on all the candidates for my cities upcoming May 11th election… seeing where they stood on certain issues. I sent a message to ALL the Candidates, asking them to answer a few questions that were important to me.

Derrick Johnson (Mayoral Candidate), Martin Sanchez, and Jeremiah Hammer, both running for (City Council At-Large) were kind enough to reply to my message. Needless to say those who ignored me, dismissed my message were immediately put in the (YOU WILL NOT GET MY VOTE CATEGORY)!!!

My Feedback on Johnson:

I found out Derrick Johnson was running against Mayor Brian Loughmiller. Knowing nothing about this Derrick Johnson, I googled him. Reading one of the reason he was running was because he thought our city lacked DIVERSITY, peeked my interest.

I found out he was married, had children, and a Pastor of a church in Como, TX. I immediately contacted him and ask if I could meet him, and if he would answer a few questions for me. Being leery of people who let you know they are religious, I didn’t expect much. But to my surprise, I found him to be upfront and honest. Someone who was looking to inspire the community to get involved with what is happening in our community. I found someone who believed in EQUALITY, and wanted to see this city evolve and move into the 21st Century with pride!

I was disappointed to learn he suspended his campaign before I could get to know more about his vision. Although, he no longer is running against Mayor Brian Loughmiller, I found out his name is still on the ballot, and I personally will be VOTING for him! Why you ask…because it’s my VOTE…My VOTE matters to me, and I’m giving it to someone that I know believes in EQUALITY for ALL!

If you read this Derrick Johnson, know this, “YOU” have my VOTE! And I hope you will continue to let your voice be heard, and speak up for those who can’t or won’t speak up themselves!!!

People, if YOU want to make a difference and be a VOICE for change, you too should VOTE for Derrick Johnson this election! Although he won’t be elected Mayor…by VOTING for him we can show we support him, and his vision for DIVERSITY within our city! May 11th - VOTE Johnson.

Keep in mind…City Officials aspire to become State Officials, and we all have seen throughout various States nationwide the damage (State Officials) have done! I’m “NOT Ready to Make Nice” or sit idle, till people make the decision to get involved with what is not only happening globally, but right in their own backyard!!

FYI…There are (35) Collin County Elected Officials…ALL Republicans! (11) Openings are coming up in “2014” if this message falls on the ears of any Democrat, Independent, Progressive, please step up and challenge/run in “2014”! The support is here, the time is NOW!!! We Need Both Parties!

If he wanted to gain ANY creditability, he would have sat down with @maddows or, @Lawrence and had a REAL TRUTHFUL one-on one conversation about bridging the divide in the GOP, or how he wants to assist helping congress work with the President for the American people!
